What does it mean to be a Direct Support Professional?
 
Multiple Shifts: Weekdays, Weekends and Evenings; Full-Time and Part-Time
 
We are a local developmental disability agency that provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities. We work in an energetic atmosphere that embraces teamwork.
 
We are currently searching for outgoing, compassionate and dedicated individuals to become part of our diverse team. You will help empower our clients to enhance their independent living skills by training and supporting them with budgeting, comparative shopping, medical appointments, community access, personal care and homemaker activities. This is a challenging role. This position requires good judgment, excellent written and verbal communication, and quick problem-solving skills.
 
Successful candidates must have the ability to develop a rapport and trust with our clients and have a genuine desire to serve our unique community. Previous experience in human services field is a plus but not required.
Must be at least 19 years old, have a car, a valid driver’s license, auto registration and auto insurance. Must pass driving abstract requirements and background check.
 
Seeking individual for 1:1 Direct Support Professional for young adults with Autism
 
Preferred:
Previous experience working in Autistic Support, particularly with individuals who are non-verbal or who have limited means of communication
Education or experience with Human Development/Behavior, Communication, Special Education, or other related fields.
Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent
 
Responsibilities Include:
-Providing assistance in all aspects of daily life, including, but not limited to, feeding, changing clothing, toileting, communicating, completing hygiene tasks, etc.
-Ability to withstand consistent physical activity (i.e. standing, walking, physically assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
-Part-time and full-time positions available.
